OUR MISSION

HBCU Proud Foundation exists to close the funding gap facing HBCU athletic programs — not through grants, not through institutional bureaucracy, but through direct, recurring community giving that lands where it's needed most.

THE GAP WE'RE CLOSING

HBCU alumni give at rates above the national average, yet HBCU athletic departments remain chronically underfunded relative to the talent, passion, and cultural impact they produce. The problem has never been generosity. It's been infrastructure — too many alumni and supporters have simply never been asked, never been shown where their dollar goes, or never had a direct channel that didn't disappear into general operating budgets.

We built one.

HOW WE'RE DIFFERENT

Every dollar donated through HBCU Proud follows the same transparent 70/15/15 split: the majority goes straight to programs, with the remainder split between fundraising and administrative costs — published, fixed, and never hidden. There are no applications, no waiting periods, and no middlemen between your donation and the athletic program it supports.

Our Legacy 5,000 model is built on a simple idea: 5,000 people giving $20 a month generates $1+ million a year, unrestricted, for the program you choose. You don't need wealth to move the needle. You need to be one of 5,000 people who said yes.

OUR STANDARDS

We are early in our life as an organization, and we're building in the open rather than waiting until everything is polished. Our EIN and financials are available for anyone to verify. As HBCU Proud grows, a formal board and audited annual reports are the next milestones on our roadmap — not promises pushed indefinitely down the road.

OUR VISION

A future where HBCU athletic programs are funded with the same seriousness as their athletes compete — where community support isn't a backup plan, but the foundation. Protecting Black legacy starts with protecting the institutions that built it.
